CITIZEN’S CHARTER
- YOUR
RIGHTS
You are
entitled to be an Elector in Rajasthan if you are
- Citizen of India.
- Ordinary resident in Rajasthan,
- 18 years or above on the qualifying date, (generally 1st
January each year) and
- Not otherwise disqualified in this connection.
- INCLUSION,
DELETION AND MODIFICATION OF NAME IN THE ELCTORAL ROLLS
Any person, whose name
is not included in the Electoral Roll of the Assembly Constituency under
which his/her residence falls but satisfies the above mentioned criteria,
may apply to the Electoral Registration Officer of the concerned Assembly
Constituency for the inclusion of his/her name in Form-6 (in duplicate).
Following other forms will also be available with the ERO for various
election related activities:-
Form 7 : Objection
to inclusion of name in the Electoral Roll.
Form 8 : Objection
to particulars in any entry in the Electoral Roll.
Form 8A: Application
for transposition of entry in the Electoral Roll.
Form 8B: Application
for deletion of entry in Electoral Roll
CAUTION : It may be noted that any person who furnishes
false information can be prosecuted under the provisions of the
Representation of the People Act, 1950,which prescribes imprisonment upto
one year and/or fine for such offences.
- TIME BOUND
DISPOSAL OF APPLICATIONS
The ERO concerned would
complete his action after necessary verification on all the above mentioned
cases in 21 days (maximum period), excluding the date of application and
date of publication of the list.
- ELECTOR’S
IDENTITY CARD :
After your name is
registered in the Electoral Roll of the concerned Assembly Constituency,
you will be eligible for issue of Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC). For
the first time; provided other formalities are complete. For issue of
photo-identity card, in case of loss, modification etc. it will be issued
only after due verification, of 8th day of the date of
submission of application by the elector positively.
- ISSUE OF
CERTIFIED COPIES OF ENTRY IN THE ELECTORAL ROLL & PERMISSION FOR
INSPECTION OF ENTRIES IN ELECTORAL ROLL
A certificate of an
entry of the name of person/persons in the current Electoral Roll will be
issued on the same day, whereas for the entry in the roll of previous years, at the most, on
the 4th day to applicant electors on payment of fee in the form
of Court Fee Stamp.
Inspection of a
particular entry/entries in the Electoral Roll for a specific year will be
permitted by Electoral Registration Officer by making the payment in the
form of Court fee stamp by the applicant.
FEE:
1. 1. Inspection fee of
Electoral Rolls : Rs.
5/-per hour or part there of

rolls of current year :

** A sum of Rs. 1.00 extra for each roll year
prior to current year roll, will be charged for extract.
Urgency Charges : Double
the rates of the normal will be charged if the certificate
is required
earlier than 04 days period.
4. The
Electoral Rolls Data for the year 1999, in Hindi & English is also
available in the form of CDs the rates are as follows:
For Parliamentary Constituency
Rs.1000/- each & for State Assembly Rs. 3000/-per CD
All the above mentioned Election related services are
available to the public at the offices of Electoral Registration Officers
between 10 A.M. to 3.00P.M. for submission of all types of applications and
4.00 P.M to 5.00 P.M for collection of certificate/Photo I-Cards etc. on
all the working days. Except for the certified copies of entry and
inspection of electoral rolls, all election related services are available
free of cost.
6. QUALIFICATIONS FOR MEMEBERSHIP OF PARLIAMENT AND OF
THE STATE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY
A person shall be
qualified to be chosen to fill a seat in Parliament or State Legislative
Assembly if he
(1)

is a
citizen of India.
(2)
(2)
makes and
subscribe before some authorized person an oath or affirmation.
(3)
(3)
is not less
than twenty five years of age, and
(4)
(4)
is not
otherwise disqualified under the relevant laws.
A candidate not setup by
a Recognized Political Party shall get his nomination paper subscribed by
10 proposer being electors of that constituency. For a Parliamentary
Constituency, the amount of security deposit is Rs. 10,000/- (Rs. 5,000/-
for SC/ST). In case of Assembly Constituency, these amounts are Rs. 5,000/-
and Rs. 2,500/- respectively.

conditions.

family, who has left to some other place to reside.

services, please contact their Electoral Registration Officer OR the next
immediate In-charge Officer-the concerned Deputy Commissioner/Joint Chief
Electoral Officer.
